Hello, everyone! It's been a while since we've posted, so we wanted to give an update on what's been happening in the last few weeks here at the Harris household.
Kevin and I are drawing near the end of our church's Equipped class, which is a training class for future care group leaders. We'll find out soon if we're going to be leading one, which, either way, we are SO thankful for the opportunity to go through the class and be exposed to such rich material and relationships with other couples. We can truly say it's been a joy and a blessing, as well as humbling and challenging.
Work is going well for both of us. Kevin is coming up on his year anniversary at Clayton, so he's looking to end his time in collections on a high note and apply to promote out. Be praying for him over these next few crucial months, that he would hit his goals and that a job would open up for him in a department in which he's interested. I am still selling those repos (shameless plug: http://www.mobilehomesexpress.com/) and still loving my job. I recently got back from a trip out to California and loved every minute of it (except for the red-eye flight back home, which was the most miserable 5 hours of my life). I was hoping to get to spend some time with my dear friend Megan, but she had some scheduling issues come up and couldn't see me, so I spent my free time at the Burbank IKEA. Oh, how I love thee, IKEA.
We're also planning on renovating our bathrooms in the next few weeks. We were going to apply for DIY Network's "Run My Renovation" show, but we changed our minds once we found out the filming wasn't going to be until at least October. We can't stand to use our hardly-functional, ever-crumbling, disco-loving bathrooms for that long!! We've got 5 contractors coming over in the next 2 weeks to give us estimates, and then it will be time to get things started! I'll be sure to post before, during, and after pics on here.
We'll be spending 4th of July weekend with Kevin's parents. We're looking forward to seeing them and having Boo play with their massive puppy, Tux. Hopefully it won't get too chaotic.
We married in August 2008 here in Knoxville, where we had met and attended church and college together for several years prior as close friends. After we got married, we got a dog. Then we got a house. Then we got a blog.

Having a dog likens to having a toddler...
I'm feeling a little under the weather tonight, so Kevin let me stay home instead of going to babysit [read: play video games with] the Cormany boys tonight. Plus we didn't want to spread my germs to them if whatever I've got is contageous.
So, I'm sitting on the couch, relaxing, drinking a glass of milk, and watching old episodes of The Hills on Netflix (don't judge me...). I decided to start a load of laundry, so I sat my milk glass down on the end table, far away from Boo's reach... or so I thought.
I had not even been gone 2 minutes... and what do I come back to see? None other than Boo, stretched waaaaay out, balancing precariously on the arm of the couch, completely guzzling my milk. Of course my initial reaction was, "NOOOOOO!!" because I thought he'd spill it everywhere, which he didn't. He's a professional dairy thief. Then after I shooed him off and scolded him, a horrific, disgusting thought set in... I had gotten up to go to the bathroom earlier... and to sort the clothes, too. What if he'd been drinking out of it before now, and I just hadn't caught him red-handed?"
Gag me.

New Bloggy!
I've been wanting to get a blog for a while, since I've desperately missed writing, and also to help our families keep in touch. It's a beautiful thing - this internet - that we can post a little story about our day and a few pictures and be able to communicate with people we love (and absolute strangers, which is always cool, yet creepers).
So, here she is, in all her glory: our family blog. Hopefully it will serve a purpose and not just be a waste of cyberspace.
